Builds on Morocco UNS Standard v0.1 and Annex A — Phosphate & Mining. Adapts the standard to OCP Safi’s existing stack (SAP S/4HANA + Azure + TEAL Technology Services + OCP-MS I-SENSE) without disrupting it. Designed to enter via ManufacturiX / InnovateX Day.
1. Why Safi (not Jorf Lasfar) for the pilot
Safi is the right size: large enough to matter (full chemical complex — phosphoric acid, fertilizers, port loading) but smaller than Jorf Lasfar’s flagship status, which means lower political stakes for a first deployment. It also sits in the OCP-MS regional footprint with Abdenour Jbili (CEO OCP-MS, Director ManufacturiX) as the senior sponsor with direct accountability for the site.
A successful Safi pilot creates the precedent for Jorf Lasfar; a failure at Jorf Lasfar would close every door.

3. Technical scope
3.1 Bounded scope
The pilot brokers one production line at Safi — the slurry-pump → phosphoric-acid loop already covered by the Worked Example — OCP Safi Slurry Line — for 90 days, with the goal of producing a CBAM-conformant emissions extract for one fertilizer cargo.
Out of scope: rest of Safi site, Jorf Lasfar, mining sites, SAP integration beyond a one-way bridge, replacement of any existing system.

Broker on-prem at Safi. CBAM aggregator runs in OCP’s Azure tenant for ledger durability. SAP bridge is read-only — SAP becomes a node per Walker Reynolds’s framing, not a hub.

4. Entry route
4.1 Primary: ManufacturiX / InnovateX Day
ManufacturiX is the canonical OCP innovation entry; InnovateX Day runs annually with ~2,500 applicants → 35 selected. Submission requires TRL 7–9 — this overlay is positioned at TRL 7 (validated in relevant environment via Worked Example — OCP Safi Slurry Line). Application window: December 2025; the standard is ready in time.
4.2 Secondary: OCP Foundation StartGate
If ManufacturiX timing slips, StartGate (now closed for new admissions, but legacy contacts via Sarrah Cherif D’Ouezzan remain) offers a softer adjacency.
4.3 Tertiary: TEAL co-pitch
TEAL Technology Services is the co-implementer of every OCP digital initiative. A co-pitch with TEAL bypasses some of the procurement friction; the trade-off is reduced IEIA brand visibility. Use only if direct ManufacturiX entry stalls past Q3 2026.

These are indicative bands for vault planning, not a commitment. Final pricing depends on procurement structure (direct, via TEAL, or via OCP Innovation Fund).
5.3 Strategic value to IEIA (not on the invoice)
- Reference logo — OCP is the most consequential industrial reference in Morocco
- Standard owner status — every subsequent OCP digital project references the IEIA-owned standard
- CBAM precedent — the May 2027 declaration validates the standard at the highest possible stake
6. Why now
- CBAM May 2027 first declaration — 25 months from today. A Safi pilot in Q3 2026 with Phase 2 in 2026-Q4 leaves comfortable margin.
- OCP CBAM exposure is structural — phosphoric acid and DAP/MAP/NPK exports to the EU are large, predictable, and not commodity-cycle exposed (per 4Sight Holdings — Competitive Intelligence 2026 thesis).
- No incumbent UNS — OCP-MS I-SENSE is closed-stack predictive maintenance, not a UNS. The position is open.
- The standard exists — Morocco UNS Standard v0.1 is drafted; there is no faster mover able to reference a published Moroccan standard.
